Having cruised the Chilean Fjords and around Cape Horn aboard Viking Jupiter in 2020, we had disembarked in Buenos Aires, so it seemed appropriate - albeit 6 years later - that we should re-join the ship in Buenos Aires for her return to the Mediterranean across the Atlantic. This would be Andrew's 'treat' to me in his first full year of retirement and for this epic 'voyage' we would be back in one of our favourite 'Explorer Suites', but at the back this time, rather than at the front!

Also, in a moment of extravagent weakness (!) rather than flying direct to Buenos Aires to join the ship, we decided to add Viking's 4-day pre-cruise extension to see more of Rio de Janeiro (as Andrew hadn't been before) and to visit the world-famous Iguazu Falls on the border of Brazil and Argentina, staying at the 5-star Belmond Hotel das Cataratas right by the falls - an 'excursion par excellence' that we chickened-out of doing when we were in Buenos Aires in 2020....
